A description of each camp option available during the session listed is below. In recent years campers have even chosen to sign-up for a specialty session (setters or middle hitters, etc) the first week and then return to camp the second week with their team or to improve their overall individual skills during the all-skills camp. You must choose a single option per session. If you are unsure which session is right for you, contact the camp director for assistance.
Session 1 July 11-15, 2010 $450per sessionSetters Specialty Camp - campers enrolling in this session will be trained in all skills that a setter needs. This includes but is not limited to footwork, calling an offense, setting at different heights and tempos, tipping, and second-ball attacking. They will also learn all volleyball skills, but from the vantage point of the setter, ie. digging, serving, hitting, and blocking. The setters, middle hitters, outside hitters, and defensive specialists will work together at various times during the teaching sessions. Middle Hitters Specialist Camp - campers enrolling in this session will be trained in all skills that a middle hitter/blocker needs. This includes but is not limited to footwork, transition, reading the setter, and hitting sets of different height and tempo. They will also learn all volleyball skills, but from the vantage point of the middle hitter/blocker, ie. digging, serving, hitting, and blocking. The middle hitters, outside hitters, setters, and defensive specialists will work together at various times during the teaching sessions. Outside Hitters Specialist Camp - campers enrolling in this session will be trained in all skills that a outside hitter needs. This includes but is not limited to footwork, transition, serve receive, defense, and hitting sets of different height and tempo. They will also learn all volleyball skills, but from the vantage point of the middle hitter/blocker, ie. digging, serving, hitting, and blocking. The outside hitters, middle hitters, setters, and defensive specialists will work together at various times during the teaching sessions. Defensive Specialist/Libero Camp - campers enrolling in this session will be trained in all skills that a defensive specialist/libero needs. This includes but is not limited to digging, serve receive, serving, back row attacks, and emergency techniquest. The defensive specialist/liberos, middle hitters, outside hitters, and setters will work together at various times during the teaching sessions. High School All-Skills Team Camp - campers enrolling in this session will be taught all skills that a volleyball players needs (passing, serving, blocking, hitting, etc.). A minimum of seven players from the same school are needed to enroll as a team. They will then be grouped together and will be taught generic team systems applicable to all skill levels.
Session 2 July 18-22, 2010 $450 per sessionHigh School All-Skills Camp - campers enrolling in this session will be taught all skills that a volleyball players needs (passing, serving, blocking, hitting, etc.). Players will be skills tested on the first day and will be grouped with players of similar skill level. High School All-Skills Team Camp - campers enrolling in this session will be taught all skills that a volleyball players needs (passing, serving, blocking, hitting, etc.). A minimum of seven players from the same school are needed to enroll as a team. They will then be grouped together and will be taught generic team systems applicable to all skill levels. Graduating Seniors Camp - campers enrolling in this session must be students who graduated from high school and are entering their first year of college. These players should be of higher skill who are looking to sharpen their skills prior to reporting to their preseason or general tryout session. |
